Friday, October 18, 2024 (All day) to Wednesday, December 4, 2024 (All day)
Online Event
The discussion will begin on Friday, October 18, and will be led by Professor Danny Smith Salfati, Department of Art History and Archaeology at Columbia University. Please order a copy of this book from your local independent bookstore or access it from your local library.
This five week session will explore the relationship between art and artifice and the tireless task of a painter in Maylis de Kerangal’s 2021 novel Painting Time. We will approach the task of an art historian in reverse, examining how Paula’s mastery of material and subject matter reveal the attention and dedication required to truly see an image.
Join the Goodreads Group to participate starting October 18th.
