John Jay Scholars Program

The John Jay Scholars Program is named after Founding Father, John Jay CC 1764, a student of classics and the law and a leading proponent of the principles of the American Constitution. This award program provides financial aid and special programming to enhance the academic and extracurricular experiences of outstanding students.

The John Jay Scholars distinguish themselves through the originality and independence of their thinking, their rich and varied record of accomplishments and their potential to contribute to society in a meaningful way. This special academic enhancement program is designed to promote intellectual growth, leadership development and global awareness. Students are motivated to reach beyond their niches to learn that they can change society, and in fact have a responsibility to do so.

The program is centered on panels, discussions and presentations by leading professors, professionals and individuals from a variety of fields who serve as exemplars of commitment, creativity and courage.

Through this generosity of this program, Columbia College is able to attract and support this exceptional cohort of students.
