For many — Columbia College included! — summer is a time to reflect and to hit the books, too. So as Columbia’s Fiscal Year 2017 closed on June 30, we took a moment to recognize the thousands of College alumni, parents, students and friends who played a role in sustaining the future of alma mater by making a gift to the Columbia College Fund, volunteering their time and participating in events.
Alumni donations are a large contributing factor in yearly college rankings, and we thank all who have secured Columbia College’s standing as one of the world’s premier colleges in the world.
This year, alumni gave to the College in a variety of ways that had real impact and gave us much to be proud of: the creation of two Young Alumni Scholarships, funded by gifts from more than 600 alumni in the Classes of 2007–2016; a successful fifth annual Columbia Giving Day, which raised millions of dollars for College students in just 24 hours; exceeding our goal of 1,754 donors in the month of April alone during the #1754Challenge; and much more.
