Four Distinguished Columbia College Alumni Speak During Commencement

GarcettiThis year's Commencement showcased the breadth and depth of careers for graduates of Columbia College. Four alumni who have achieved distinction in diverse fields returned to campus to inspire graduates through keynote speeches. Eric Garcetti CC’92, SIPA'93, the 42nd mayor of Los Angeles, delivered the keynote address at the Columbia College Class Day. Carl Haber CC’80, GSAS’85, a physicist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, spoke at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences M.A. Convocation. Ben Horowitz CC’88, co-founder of the venture capital firm, Andreessen Horowitz, spoke at The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science Class Day. Beau Willimon CC’99, SOA’03, creator of the Netflix original series House of Cards, spoke at the School of the Arts Celebration of Graduates.
