According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, Black-owned businesses have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.

As a Columbia alum, you might remember adding Sylvia's Hot Sauce to everything in John Jay, sharing injera with friends at Massawa, or enjoying a double-cone from Sugar Hill Creamery while window shopping at Muse. How can we make sure these and other local Black-owned businesses survive the pandemic?

Join CCYA to learn how to effectively support the Black-owned businesses in the community surrounding Columbia, straight from the business owners themselves. Moderated by a CC young alum, this event will leave you with actionable ways you can help even in this virtual environment.

Panelists

Even Han, Massawa Restaurant

Petrushka Bazin Larsen, Sugar Hill Creamery

Crizette Woods, Sylvia's Restaurant

Kimberly Waters, Muse Harlem Perfumery

Moderated by Julien Reiman CC'18
