A Message from the CCW President — Fall 2024

Nancy Pak CC’90, BUS’95

Dear Columbia College Women and Community,

As Columbia College Women’s newest president, I am honored to serve our alumnae by connecting and celebrating CC women. Our community is more than 16,000 strong globally. This is a pivotal time for members to lean into the many ways we can make a positive difference for each other through mentoring, networking, and our diverse events and social activities.

My four years at Columbia College were transformative for me as a student and overall person. Columbia is the place where I made lifelong female friends with whom I laugh, dream and consult with on everything in life. I consider them my sisters, especially after I lost my parents right before I graduated from the College.

I was introduced to CCW when a fellow alumna in my area invited me to join an alumnae panel. From that event onward, I was motivated to get involved with the CCW community and to bring others along. And what has continued to inspire me is the way our alumnae support, celebrate and encourage each other. I speak from experience: My alumnae friends have been there for me and cheered me on as I navigated my career, moved across the globe and raised my young family abroad.

To engage with CCW is to give back to alumnae across time and geographies — mentoring recent CC grads, hosting virtual panels and live events where alumnae can make connections and nurturing them after they’ve met through a CCW event.

Through CCW, I am always learning something, and I am energized by making connections with people whom I can reach out to for ideas, work and life advice, and as potential advisers or colleagues.

Please join me in getting involved with CCW. Become a volunteer, attend an event, or share an idea for a program or community function. We have hosted events featuring female entrepreneurs, women in sports, female authors, women in medicine and more. I always leave such events with important lessons that I can apply to my own life.

I look forward to getting to know more of you in the coming months and hope to see you at an event.

Happy fall!

Best regards,
