The immersive experience of Core | Reexplore is enhanced by a variety of class activities that will take place during the week, bringing alumni into the city and together in social experiences that will foster rich conversation as well as the friendships and joy that the Core encourages in our students today. Activities include:
Sunday – Opening cocktail reception for attendees and faculty
Tuesday – Class supper at Harlem’s Red Rooster restaurant
Wednesday – Class tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s European Paintings, Greek and Roman Art, and Modern and Contemporary Art wings with private guide, followed by afternoon tea or cocktails
Thursday – Group performance of King Lear, at the Cort Theater with acclaimed actress Glenda Jackson as the mad king
Friday – Visit to Columbia’s Rare Books and Manuscripts Library to view archival texts from the Core collection, followed by a closing cocktail reception
Lunch will be provided daily between classes, along with refreshments throughout the day. The cost of all activities are included in the course registration fees.
