2018 Parade of Classes

When is it?

Columbia College Parade of Classes at Class Day is Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.

What is it?

The Columbia College Class Day ceremony is for all College graduates whose degrees are conferred within the 2017-18 academic year, and their families. During the ceremony, individual students are recognized for their achievements. As their names are read, graduates process across the stage and receive their Class Pin. This is separate from the University Commencement scheduled for May 16th.

Who attends?

All Columbia College students eligible to graduate, their guests and alumni marching in the parade.

What happens?

In addition to speeches, award presentations and performances, graduates process across the stage and receive their class pins as their names are read.

Where is it?

The event takes place on the South Lawns of the Morningside Heights campus.

If I attend the parade, can I stay for the rest of Class Day?

Yes! Alumni are encouraged to stay for the Class Day Ceremony and cheer on the Class of 2018.

I have limited mobility, where should I enter campus?

Guests with mobility issues should enter campus via the 116th Street gates at Amsterdam Avenue. Event hosts will be stationed at these gates and available to assist guests with seating. Prepare for your visit by viewing the campus disability access map.
