The Costume Institute's spring 2018 exhibition examines fashion’s ongoing engagement with the devotional practices and traditions of Catholicism. The cornerstone of the exhibition includes papal robes and accessories from the Sistine Chapel sacristy, many of which have never been seen outside The Vatican.

Join Professor Avinoam Shalem as he guides Columbia College alumni through the exhibit, explaining the use of precious materials for adorning Sacred Bodies and examining how veiling and the combination of Body and Clothes as skins serve to create the Holy.
